Fingers in Pies was asked to become involved with the first in a series of Peroni Nastro Azzuro hosted dinner experiences.

Peroni say that ”The dinners are a revival of the Italian Renaissance tradition of ‘Salone’. The Salone were gatherings of the like-minded under the roof of an inspiring host, as participants sought to amuse one another while they refined their tastes and increased their knowledge through the course of an evening’s conversation.”

The first dinner took place in The Manchester Art Gallery – and was hosted by fashion expert Gianluca Longo. The dinner saw him delve deep in to the city’s thriving fashion scene and cultural identity with 20 of Manchester’s most influential bloggers, designers and fashionistas, all hand picked to attend. Each demonstrated the city’s absolute sartorial independence from the capital and proved that in Manchester, on-line business is much more powerful than any glossy magazine when it comes to dictating trends.

Our creative director Alix Walker attended the dinner and was impressed by the format while enjoying the more intriguing take in the way a brand can engage with locals, when visiting a city for the first time. One of the key points was that a selection of people were approached on the street during the daytime, and then asked to attend the drinks reception. This created a cross section of Manchester folk enjoying the splash of Italian hospitality offered out by Gianluca Longo and his entourage.

We are hosting the Cheap Mondays and Selfridges Manchester and Birmingham store launch parties. First up is Manchester. Being held at Soup Kitchens louche basement venue in the Northern Quarter. This will kick off the Manc party season in style.

Featuring Now Wave and Beach Cult. Manchesters troubadours, shooting from the hip of all that is savvy and cool (except telecommunication devices, I am sure they still use pigeons!!)

Here you see the Boss logo turned into a thing of digital beauty by KrikSix.

This animation was commissioned by FIP for Boss Models. It was produced live, from a 2D jpeg, at the recent Boss Model Management website launch event and party. What better way to link between a models human form and the digital world of the internet and pixels.

Fingers In Pies recently produced a cabaret game show for the Truth About Youth project. This was hosted by The Royal Exchange Theatre. Along with The Game Show Club, Alix Walker mentored the T.A.Y group, to assist them, in producing the event. They did this with great enthusiasm and a professional attitude. As you will see from the pictures below, it worked out really well indeed.

The event was a great success, with many young folks in attendance. The Game Show Club was the highlight of the afternoon. Prizes were won and laughs were given away for free.

Fingers In Pies will be producing, the Boss Model Management party and website launch, onThursday 1st September. The event will be held in the splendid Atrium, at Fourways House, and next door at Lammars in Manchesters Northern Quarter.

As ever, Boss like to throw the finest party in town and, Fingers In Pies is adding a perfect blend of entertainment, slick production and talented performers. Watch out for the post event pictures, for this is to be, a fine night out on the tiles for all who attend.

Boomtown and beyond

Fingers In Pies was invited to showcase The Ramshackle Circus at this years Boomtown Fair. It was a great weekend away with many of the finest performers in the land descending on Boomtown. This years event was held at Matterly Bowl, which was the former site of Homelands back in 2001.

The Ramshackle Crew were joined by Nathan Lunatricks, fresh from Edinburgh and the amazing styles, from New Zealand’s Highly Flammable, who performed on the Friday to an amazed audience.

Many thanks to Boomtown for inviting us and we hope to return next year with a bigger and better show.
